Recap: Do
you like it? Ben looked at her, he had opened a sweetnsour
sauce for her.

When Kayla tried it
her face lit up, Yes, I love it! She smiled, and then ate
another one.

Im glad I
picked well. He said and joined the rest in eating. : End

And the drink? What
was that? Kayla was asking Ben questions about their lunch. He
liked the Question and Answer game that he used to annoy Kevin, so
this was fun. That- and they were in Kevins car, forcing him to
listen, this was Bens revenge.

Its Coke, there
are other brands, but the original is the best! Ben told her;
because she wasnt from this world she believed everything he
told her.

Dont lie to her
Ben! Gwen scolded him, You know as well as I do your favorite
is Vanilla, and you wouldve given it to her instead! She turned
around in the passenger seat so she could yell at him in a more
conferrable position.

So, youre dating
a guy that loves Pepsi product! They both turned to look at him.
Whats wrong with you? They both said at once.

Hey, Im not the
one fighting about what soda I like best. Kevin reminded them,
Gwen blush in embarrassment and Ben just stopped talking. Soon they
heard thunder crash, and they saw lightning flash in the gray clouds.

Gwen jumped in her
seat, I guess its going to rain again. It had been raining
almost everyday in Bellwood for the last week and a half.

Hey, are you alright
Kayla? Ben asked, her head was ducked and her hands instinctively
covered the back of her neck. Ben gently placed a hand on her
shoulder, trying to help her relax.

She relaxed slightly
from his touch, she sat up, Ben saw her eyes looked glassy- like she
was about to cry.

Im sorry It
was a reflex. She tried to laugh but the attempt failed.

Whats wrong?
Gwen gave her a worried look.

T- That flash of
light, Kayla started- referring to the lightning. The tears she
kept looked up fell unwillingly. Thats what the sealing spell
looks like Its the thing that killed my brother! She sobbed
in her hands, trying her best to stop. She didnt want to cry
anymore, she just didnt want to remember. Its my
fault. She sobbed harder.

Itll be alright
Kiki! Gwen comforted her as much as she could from her seat.

Kaylas sight started
to grow dark; her body felt weak and heavy again. Not again.
Kayla mumbled, a small burst of energy came from her- causing Kevin
to swerve his car- making her pass out. Kaylas unconscious form
fell over landing on Ben, head rested on his shoulder- making him
blush.

Thats gonna
take some getting used to. Kevin muttered to himself.

Got that right, you
okay- oh, how cute! Gwen chimed, causing Ben to turn a brighter
shade of red. Oh, and hes blushing too! Gwen started to
giggle.

Kevin looked in his
rear-view mirror, Turn any redder and youll be a tomato,
Tennyson. He laughed.

Shut up Kevin!
Youll wake her. Ben wanted off the subject, and he wanted it
right then and there. But Kevin continued to laugh, Ben grew angry,
and kicked the back of Kevins chair.

Watch it Tennyson!!
Kevin snapped at him.

AlwaysBen
glared back at Kevin.

Look, its
raining. Gwen said with a small hint of sadness. The rain was
sudden and hard.

Thats just
great! Kevin said.

They arrived at Gwens
house first; she opened the car door racing inside her house- hoping
not to get wet.

Mom, Dad, Im
home! Gwen called once she was inside.

Welcome home
sweetie! Her mother called back, racing to the door to give her
daughter a hug. Why are you getting an umbrella?

I went shopping;
dont want to get my things wet. Gwen replied with a smile.

Yes dear, but four?
Gwen knew she was talking about the umbrellas she started to get.

Therere for Ben,
Kevin, and Kayla. Call her Kiki though, she likes it better. Gwen
left her very confused mother.

Gwen opened an umbrella
on her porch then ran to the car handing Kevin his first. Ben had to
shake Kayla awake before he could take his. Gwen had to open Kaylas
umbrella for her, because it wouldve taken a year for her to
figure it out- mostly because shes still half asleep.

Thank you She
mouthed, trying to actually say it. Gwen smiled at her and her
tired actions. Kevin pop-opened the trunk of his car, Gwen got two
bags and handed them to Kayla, which she took with a few balance
problems.

Go to the porch, and
wait there. Well be there soon, Kiki. Kayla gave a tired nod
and did as she was told.

Kiki? Kevin
questioned Gwen.

Gwen handed him some
bags and said, She prefers it, then handed Ben a couple of
bags.

God, what did you
buy bricks? Ben complained from the weight of the bags. Gwen
glanced in the bags quickly.

No, but close. These
are Kaylas new shoes; she has pair of combat boots in there too.
Gwen told him.

WHY!? Ben
complained more.

Gwen shrugged,
Bee-cause they looked good with some of her outfits! She got
the rest of the bags and walked over to her house. Kiki, could you
open the door?

Sure, she replied
softly. How do I do that? Gwen sighed; she forgot Kayla didnt
know how to do most things on Earth.

I got it, They
heard Kevins voice. Kevin walked up to the door and opened it.
Kayla looked closely so shed know how to as well.

They walked into the
house, setting the bags down in the living room. Ben showed Kayla how
to open and close her umbrella, so she would know next time.

Im off to tell my
parents about Kiki, which one of you will show her around, hmm?
Gwen clapped her hands together.

I guess I will.
Kevin never does anything anyway. Ben stretched his arms from the
stress the shopping bags had put on him.

Hey! Kevin
pretended to be offended by Ben.

Play nice you two!
Gwen warned the boys.

Okay, time for you
tour Kayla. Ben smiled, leading her by hand.

Kiki! Kayla
corrected him. He laughed saying,my bad and continued to lead
her upstairs where the guest room was.

He showed her the two
upstairs bathrooms, Gwens room, and the hall closet. In the
bathroom, Kayla turned the sink on, when she did and the water poured
out she hid behind Ben. He laughed at her childish actions, telling
her that was how it worked. Ben showed her how turn it hot and make
it cold, then he showed her how to turn it off, but that never meant
she liked it.

Gwen can tell you
how to work the shower later, okay? Ben told her.

Whats a shower?
Is it like that sink thing? Kayla made a face that showed
her suspicion, waiting for his answer.

It just like the
sink but bigger. He gave a small chuckle, actually pointing to it.
Her eyes widened.

I-It wont eat me
right? She hid behind him again. Ben Laughed a little more, he
thought her actions were cute- childish, but still very cute.

No, of coarse not.
Ha answered her, grabbing her hand again to lead her through the rest
of the house.

Sure you friend can
stay. Gwen mother said in a sing-song voice.

If shes having
troubles at home, why dont you call someone? Frank (A/N: I
believe thats her fathers name. I checked Wikipedia but I cant
find either of her parents names. Tell me if you know) asked,
but his wife jabbed him in the ribs with her elbow. I mean its
fine with me. He shrunk away from his wife making her giggle.

Well, normally I
would, but, Gwen hesitated to finish.

What, its not
normal? Her father asked.

Gwens mothers
eyes widened, Oh, God tell me shes not like your grandmother!
She always hated Verdona, but its much worse now.

Gwen looked at the
floor and started to scratch the back of her neck, Well, shes
not exactly. But, Kayla is human! Gwen went in defensive
mode.

Her mother slouched in
her seat, How can you be sure? I mean a hundred percent sure.
She crossed her arms against her chest.

Grandpa said so,
Gwen told them with confidence. Her mother gave her a look that said
Youre so lucky.

You friend can
stay, she said once more. Gwen jumped out of her seat to hug her
parents.

Thank you! Gwen
ran to the living room to tell the others.

Your world is so
strange, and so obsolete! Kayla told them, while she messed
with the curtains in the living room. You still use fabrics I
still wonder how Earth is the older planet, and still so behind. When
your plants evolve to stone, and your animals to liquid, then youve
caught up. She smiled.

What your
technology like, Kiki? Ben asked her.

Kayla stopped playing
with the curtains, and quickly sat down. Youll find out, when
my father comes for me. She stared at her shoes. Her father, how
could she have forgotten already? Hes coming, and hes willing
to kill anyone who gets in his way.
